VINCENT Subwoofer Cable

On the opportunity of having Front Line Assembly´s Iceolate disc in rotation I disconnected the main speakers from the system to hear the Velodyne´s output only and started to switch between the Vincent Subwoofer Cable and standard Hama cable back and forth.

It was quite an ear-openning experience: the sound of a pulsating and rolling thunder somewhere in the distance (Hama) was transformed into real music, a melody if you want, with an excellent depiction of transient changes and a precise definition (Vincent). If I liked the Velodyne´s integration before, now it was moved to a completely new territory. This was where I had to re-evaluate all the previous listening sessions (the finals of this review were completed with the Vincent Subwoofer Cable in place) as the speed, clarity, focus and tightness of the bass improved significantly.

My audiophile all time favorite Spanish Harlem (Audiophile Vocal Recordings, Chesky SACD 323) was presented with superior texture and physical palpability. As the double bass in Spanish Harlem reaches 25Hz it was very vital for the SPL-800´s performance to be fed through the Vincent. Without it the magic disappeared and the harmonic richness faded out.
Once the main speakers were reconnected again the differences between the cables were much less obvious but they still exist and a listener will appreciate them highly in superbly recorded tracks like this.

The Vincent Subwoofer Cable has a fantastic price to performance ratio and I can recommend it for anyone who wants to elevate a subwoofed system's performance.
